El Día de Acción de Gracias nos invita a reflexionar sobre la fidelidad de Dios.

MOTIVOS PARA DAR GRACIAS A DIOS

"Alaba, alma mía, al Señor; alabe todo mi ser su santo nombre" (Salmo 103:1, NVI).

En el devenir cotidiano de la vida, cuántas veces no lo hacemos; pero es saludable tomar un tiempo para poner el corazón y el pensamiento en Aquel que merece el reconocimiento y la gloria.

La vida de David es un excelente ejemplo en este sentido. Hace aquí una retrospección de sí mismo, motiva a su alma a bendecir a Dios siempre, recuerda cada uno de Sus favores, los beneficios recibidos:

1) Nos perdona. El pecado es la mayor aflicción del ser humano. Cada vez que desobedecemos a Dios sin dar importancia a Su Palabra, salimos de la senda correcta. David lo vivió en carne propia; fue doblegado por los deseos de la carne. Cometió adulterio con Betsabé, mujer de Urías heteo, uno de sus valientes al que luego mandó matar para encubrir el pecado. Pero el gran peso de su pecado lo afligió:

Emocionalmente. Ni de día ni de noche tenía paz.
· Físicamente. Sus huesos estaban débiles, la fuerza lo abandonó.
· Económicamente. El verdor de su prosperidad fue como sequía de verano.
Cuando abrió el corazón y confesó su pecado, David sintió que todo volvía a ser como antes; su relación con Dios fue restaurada, podía presentarse ante Él sin vergüenza, digno y santo.

2) Nos sana. Como el pecado causó su enfermedad, la sanidad fue consecuencia de su restauración espiritual. Antes de sanar al paralítico, Jesús le dijo: "Hijo, tus pecados te son perdonados" (Marcos 2:5b). Con esto, Él mostraba, que es más importante el perdón de los pecados que la sanidad física y, antes de sanarlo, lo perdonó. Al recibir el perdón, la salud de David fue restaurada. La salvación que llega a nuestra casa, incluye la salud; por lo tanto, no debemos permitir que la enfermedad tome a ningún miembro de la familia. No proviene de Dios. Es producto de argumentos que el adversario tiene a causa del pecado. Para entrar a través de una enfermedad, Satanás busca que el ser humano le abra alguna puerta, y sucede cuando el creyente da lugar a pequeñas indiscreciones en su vida. Al tener la certeza de que nuestros pecados han sido perdonados, debemos estar firmes y resistir al adversario que huirá de nuestra vida. (Santiago 4:7).

3) Nos rescata de la muerte. David estuvo cerca de la muerte muchas veces. Satanás sabe quiénes son las personas escogidas por Dios e intenta quitarlas del camino. Debemos entender que el hombre de Dios es inmortal hasta cumplir Su propósito en esta tierra, porque Él guarda a Sus hijos sobrenaturalmente. Cuando David tuvo que enfrentar las fieras del campo, fue protegido; cuando peleó contra Goliat, fue resguardado; cuando fue a la guerra, recibió el respaldo de Dios; cuando el rey Saúl lo buscaba para matarlo, fue preservado; cada vez que sus adversarios quisieron derrocarlo, Dios lo guardó. Lo mismo ocurre con Sus hijos que se acercan a Él con corazón sincero. Hoy enfrentamos las mismas luchas que David libró, con la diferencia de que son espirituales, pues las fuerzas de maldad buscan atemorizar para que desistamos de nuestra carrera. Pablo dijo que no tenemos una lucha física sino espiritual contra fuerzas del mal en las regiones celestiales. Para que la batalla sea victoriosa, debemos ponernos toda la armadura de Dios (Efesios 6:10-12).

4) Nos cubre de amor y compasión. Dios nos perdona, también nos sana y protege de la muerte. Quiere consolarnos en medio de las luchas y, amorosamente, abre Sus brazos para que nos rindamos, sintiendo el amor ilimitado y la compasión que hay en Su corazón paternal. Al sentirnos amados por Dios, una poderosa seguridad y confianza se apoderan del alma. El vacío más grande de la humanidad es hoy la falta del amor paterno. Pero el Padre Celestial extiende Su misericordia y nos invita a aceptar Su amor y Su paternidad.

5) Nos colma de bienes. La bendición de Dios es completa. Él quiere que Sus hijos disfruten de todo en abundancia, incluso de salud y paz espiritual. Como la sanidad física es subsiguiente a la salvación, la provisión financiera resulta de nuestra relación con Dios. Jesús dijo: "Mas buscad primeramente el reino de Dios y su justicia, y todas estas cosas os serán añadidas" (Mateo 6:33). Por el pecado cometido con Betsabé, David fue amonestado por Dios. La Palabra dice que el profeta Natán le recordó cómo Dios lo había protegido y bendecido milagrosamente, y agregó: "...y si esto fuera poco, te habría añadido mucho más. ¿Por qué, pues, tuviste en poco la palabra de Jehová, haciendo lo malo delante de sus ojos?" (2 Samuel 12:8,9). En la vida de David, la prosperidad estuvo ligada a la relación que tenía con Dios. Al ceder al pecado, fue como cerrar su cuenta en el banco de Dios.

6) Nos rejuvenece como las águilas. Al entrar en la Visión, Dios renueva nuestras fuerzas, la esperanza se reactiva, creemos que Él nos bendecirá con la multiplicación y que veremos el fruto deseado en nuestro ministerio. Como el águila renueva todo su plumaje, nosotros renovamos las estrategias, cambiamos el modo de hablar, usamos palabras de fe y esperanza. Nuestra visión es clara como la del águila, podemos percibir desde lejos las metas, sin rendirnos hasta alcanzarlo.

Que este Día de Acción de Gracias sea un punto de partida en su vida. Crea que hay algo nuevo de Dios para usted. Proponga en su corazón bendecir y ser agradecido con Él, porque -a través de Jesucristo- usted fue hecho digno y santo para ir a Su presencia.

Si hoy no goza de completa salud, declare que el día en que la salvación llegó a su casa, vino con salud. Si vive un tiempo de dificultad o de peligro, crea que Dios, de una manera sobrenatural, guarda a Sus hijos que se acercan a Él con un corazón sincero. Sienta el amor del Padre que brinda seguridad y confianza a su alma. Si hay escasez financiera en su casa, declare que no se conforma con esta situación en su vida. Acepte la bendición sobreabundante que Dios ha preparado para usted y su familia en todas las cosas.

REASONS TO GIVE THANKS TO GOD

"Praise the Lord, O my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name" (Psalm 103:1, NIV).

Thanksgiving Day invites us to reflect on God's faithfulness. In the course of everyday life, so many times we do not do so; but, it is always healthy to take a time to turn our hearts and thoughts to the only One who deserves our recognition and all the glory.

David's life is an excellent example in this sense. He reflects here on his past life, motivates his soul to continually bless the Lord, and remembers each of His favors granted to him, all the benefits he has received:

1) He forgives us. Sin is the human being's greatest burden. Every time we disobey God thus neglecting His Word, we are straying from the right path. David experienced this in his own flesh; he was overcome by the desires of the flesh. He committed adultery with Bathsheba, the wife of Uriah the Hittite, one of his mighty warriors, who was later killed by David in an attempt to cover his own sin. But David was afflicted by the great burden of his sin.
· Emotionally. He did not feel peace neither day nor night.
· Physically. His bones became weak, and he lost all strength.
· Financially. The lushness of his prosperity turned to be dried.
But when David opened his heart and confessed his sin, he felt that everything went back to the way it formerly was. His relationship with God was restored and, once again, David was able to present himself before the Lord feeling he was pure, holy and worthy.

2) He heals us. Just as David's sickness was a consequence of his sin, his healing came as a result of his spiritual
restoration. Before healing the paralytic, Jesus told him, "Son, your sins are forgiven" (Mark 2:5b). Through this, Jesus was showing that the forgiveness of sins is more important than physical healing. That is why He forgave the paralytic's sins before healing him. David felt that he health was restored when he received forgiveness. Good health is a part of the salvation that comes to our home. Therefore, we should not allow sickness to take hold of any member of our family. Sickness does not come from God. It is a product of the arguments that the enemy has against us because of sin. Satan is waiting for people to open a door for him, so that he can enter through an illness, a disease. This takes place when believers give room for minor transgressions in their lives. Once we have the assurance that all our sins have been forgiven, we must remain strong resisting the enemy, and he will then flee from us (James 4:7).

3) He rescues us from death. David came close to death many times, for Satan knows who are the ones chosen
by God, and he tries to drive them off the path. We must understand that the man of God is immortal until he has fulfilled God's purpose on this earth. God protects His children in supernatural ways. When David faced the beasts of the field, the Lord protected him; when he battled against Goliath, God rescued him. Likewise, the Lord backed him up when he went out to war, and he was also supernaturally protected when Saul was seeking to kill him. Every time David's enemies tried to bring him down, God protected him. The same happens to the children of God who draw near to Him with a sincere heart. In reality, we face today many of the same battles that David had to fight. The only difference is that we now fight a spiritual battle in which the forces of darkness are trying to scare us into giving up the race. The apostle Paul warned us that our battle is not fleshy, but rather, it is against evil forces that battle in the heavenly realms. For us to wage an effective war and accomplish the victory, we must put the full armor of God on (Ephesians 6:10-12).

4) He covers us with love and compassion. God not only forgives us. He also heals us and protects us from death. The Lord desires to comfort us in the midst of our struggles. Lovingly, He opens up His arms for us to surrender to Him and feel the boundless love and compassion that emanates from the Father's heart. When we do feel loved by God, our soul is overtaken by a powerful sense of security and confidence. The greatest emptiness human beings currently feel is a lack of fatherly love. But our Heavenly Father extends His mercy, inviting us to accept His love and His fatherhood.

5) He satisfies our lives with goods. God's blessing is complete. He wants His children to enjoy all things in abundance, including good health and spiritual peace. Just as physical healing comes as a result of salvation, financial provision comes as a result of our good relationship with God. Jesus said, "But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well" (Matthew 6:33). God reprimanded David for the sin he committed with Bathsheba. The Word tells us the prophet Nathan reminded David that God had protected and blessed him in a miraculous way. Then, he added, "And if all this had been too little, I would have given you even more. Why did you despise the word of the Lord by doing what is evil in his eyes?" (2 Samuel 12:8-9). Prosperity in David's life was closely linked to his relationship with God. But, when he gave in to sin, it was as if he was closing his account in God's bank.

6) He renews us like an eagle. When we enter the Vision, God renews our strength, and our hope is revived. We believe God will bless us with multiplication, and that we will see the fruit we desire in the ministry. Like an eagle renewing its feathers, we renew our strategies. We change the way we talk by using words of faith and hope. Our sight becomes as clear as that of an eagle. We can spot our goals from a long distance, and we will not give up until we reach them.

May this Thanksgiving Day be a starting point in your life. Believe that something fresh comes from God to you. Determine your heart to bless Him and be grateful to Him, because -through Jesus Christ- you has been made worthy and holy to go to His Presence.

If you are not enjoying complete health in your body, declare that when salvation came to your home, good health came along with it. If you are going through a moment of difficulty or danger, believe with all your heart that God will always supernaturally protect those who draw near to Him with a sincere heart. Feel God's fatherly love which provides your soul with security and confidence. In the same way that physical healing comes as a result of salvation, financial provision comes as a result of our relationship with God. Therefore, do not conform yourself to any scarcity in your life. Accept the superabundant blessing that God has prepared for you and your family in all the areas of life.
